Custard Kids Childcare was created when my passion for helping people reach their developmental potential met my kids. I have managed grown ups in their roles for a couple of decades now and learnt a lot about motivation, learning styles, barriers to success and leadership along the way. I also have a background in communications: starting with an English Literature degree then journalism moving into public and media relations. For me the main two themes for creating a safe and successful learning environment are 1) understanding the individual and helping them learn in the way that suits them and 2) being clear about how they can achieve this. A good dollop of fun and creative variety added to the mix makes it work even better!
I wanted to work from home mostly because my home is amazing. It is in a large Edwardian house full of character with stained glass windows and picture rails. The guest annexe seemed a good place to set up a dedicated area for children to play and learn. I have had a lot of enjoyment choosing the toys, activities and resources for little ones of all ages to use when they come to Custard Kids. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction when I see them come along and have a wonderful time in the setting. Why not come for a visit to see whether it would suit you and your family too?
