Regulations and professional framework
I am an Ofsted-registered childminder which means I am on the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register and have been inspected and given a ‘Good’ grade of childcare. These inspections are the same across the childcare board – from nursery to childminder to pre-school so you can compare quality of provision.
It is important to work closely in partnership with parents/carers. To help with this I use Baby’s Days software package to record daily diaries, observations, next steps and learning journeys – which parents are encouraged to add to as well.
I encourage open two-way communication and would rather we talked things through sooner rather than later. I am always open to new ideas and suggestions!
I am a member of Pacey (Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years providers) using their contracts and public liability insurance.
Core opening hours are:
Monday 0800 – 1800
Tuesday 0800 – 1800
Wednesday 0800 – 1800
Thursday 0800 – 1800
Earlier and later hours are available
The hourly rate is £6.75 per child per hour. This includes drinks (water and milk) and snacks.
Meals can be provided for an additional charge or packed lunches brought with your child and stored in a fridge on site. If you forget to bring lunch on the odd occasion I can provide!
All food provided is healthy in line with Ofsted requirements.
Childcare vouchers such as Computershare, Edenred and Sodexo are accepted and other schemes are easy to join. I am registered for the government tax-free childcare scheme.
